Two Kinds of Selfish

There are two kinds of selifh.

And knowing the difference can change your life—and the lives around you.

🟢 GOOD selfish is saying “no” to others so you can say “yes” to your health.

It’s carving out time for your workouts, protecting your meal plan, setting boundaries, pushing back against food pushers, and showing up for yourself—guilt-free.

This kind of selfish models self-respect. It teaches your kids discipline. It inspires your friends. It supports your partner’s journey.

It’s not selfish at all—it’s self-leadership.

🔴 Then there’s BAD selfish.

The kind where parents neglect their own health and unintentionally pass down habits that limit their kids’ futures. (In reality, by choosing to neglect their own health, parents intentionally pass down those habits to their kids.)

The kind where one partner attempts to make real changes—while the other keeps bringing home their trigger foods.

That kind of selfish says:

“I’m not willing to change, even if it hurts the people I love.”

That’s not love.

That’s comfort over contribution.

That’s enabling over empowering.

So, here’s the truth: 🔥

✅ Putting your health first is the most generous thing you can do.

✅ Prioritizing your wellbeing helps everyone around you.

✅ Making time to move, rest, prep, and grow is not selfish. It’s essential.

Choose the kind of selfish that leaves a legacy you can be proud of.
