In the simplest terms, PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a health condition linked with both hormone imbalance and insulin resistance. Women with PCOS have greater chances of developing several serious health conditions, but perhaps of utmost importance is that PCOS is the #1 cause of infertility issues affecting women of child-bearing age.
In my business, we meet many girls, teens and young women who have PCOS and don’t even know it until they come to see us. Way too often, I’m the first person to tell them to make an appointment with an endocrinologist (a hormone specialist) to either confirm my suspicions or rule it out. Not only are these girls overweight or obese and always unhappy, but by the time they get to us they’ve really been through the ringer. What do I mean by that? I elaborate on that in this document, which I also provide to clients.
