Here’s the fat.

👉🏻 Intramuscular fat is the visible fat found within a muscle and is considered to be similar to visceral adipose tissue found in the abdomen.

👉🏻 Liver fat occurs when too much fat builds up in the liver. Fatty liver is reversible at an early stage to decrease the risk of its progression to more serious liver disease.

👉🏻 Visceral fat stores within the abdominal cavity and surrounds several vital organs, including the liver, stomach, and intestines. It can also build up in the arteries.

👉🏻 Subcutaneous fat is the jiggly fat visible just under the skin.

Visceral fat is the most dangerous of all types of body fat.

One reason it’s so harmful is that its blood flow drains into the liver via the portal vein. In other words, all the toxins and fatty acids from visceral fat are swept up by the blood and dumped into the liver, negatively impacting the production of blood lipids (cholesterol). Visceral fat pumps out immune system chemicals called cytokines that can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease by promoting insulin resistance and chronic inflammation. And abdominal obesity 𝑖𝑠 a state of chronic inflammation.
