Speed Bumps

Who put the speed brakes on?!
☹️
Even if you’re one of the lucky ones who lost easily in the first few weeks of your diet, newcomers be forewarned:
There 𝐚𝐫𝐞 speed bumps ahead.
This is when no matter how much you stick to your plan you just can’t seem to lose any weight.
This is your first 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡, a period where your body is pausing after the first rush of lost weight, the body’s way of adjusting to a rapid weight loss. (This is not to be confused with a 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙪, when your weight, body measurements, and your body fat haven’t changed for a month or more.)
The trick, if you have these fits-and-starts style of losing weight, is to look back on the entire time you’ve been dieting and figure out how much weight you’ve lost per week, on average. So, for example, if you lost 10 pounds in the first two weeks and then stall and lose nothing for the next three, you will still have lost an average of 2 pounds per week, which is a very desirable rate.
The important thing to remember?
Don’t let your speed bumps turn into stop lights.
Keep going.
