No More Excuses

An excuse is an explanation for why something is the way it is, that always involves the blame being put on someone or something else.

A reason is an explanation for why something is the way it is, with the individual (or everyone involved) taking accountability for their part in a situation.

In my line of work, I hear excuses from clients all day long.

For every excuse that you can give for why you weren’t successful in your weight loss (or control) attempts, there is a real reason that points back to something YOU did or didn’t do.

You are the only person that controls the destiny of your body.

For every event or scenario where there’s potential to “fall off the wagon” or make bad choices, there’s a procedure or a system you could have had in place to increase your chances of avoiding it.

Until you learn to take it, you’ll be doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, everyone does, but only those that admit their responsibility in the mistake learn from it. Those are the people that can keep trying and eventually taste success. Those that only want to blame someone or something else for their weight loss failures are dooming themselves to a life full of them.

Stop making excuses.

Start making changes.
