For most folks, the word “infertility” is immediately associated with a woman having problems conceiving.

For most folks who hear, “𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦’𝑟𝑒 having trouble conceiving,” the first thought is of the female in that partnership, and that any number of physical or hormonal issues must be the culprit.

The problem with that thinking, however, is that it’s wrong . . . at least half of the time!

Medical/age issues aside, the biggest obstacle to fertility is obesity—and obesity is not just a woman’s problem.

The first group of organs impacted by excess body fat is the reproductive system—and that too is not just a woman’s problem.

For men, being overweight or obese very often leads to:

✅ less testosterone, more estrogen

✅ sexual dysfunction

✅ low sperm count

✅ less fertile sperm

✅ lower sperm motility

So, fellas, if you’re very overweight or obese, and see children in your future, get in shape now. Don’t wait for the heartache to happen, and chances are high that it will. I see it and hear it from way more wives than I should.
