When a client says, “It’s not working . . .” — trying to suggest that eating normal, regular, everyday foods from all the food groups, using portion control, planning ahead and packing meals and snacks to eat throughout the day, is the reason they’re not losing weight — what they’re really saying is, “It’s not me, it’s you.”
This gal won’t play.
In fact, it’s never me . . . it’s always them!
When you start making excuses as to why you’re not losing weight, start asking yourself these questions instead:
❓ How badly do I want to lose weight?
❓ Why don’t I have what I want (being slim) already?
❓ Why am I lacking?
❓ What do I need, specifically, to help me beyond excuses?
❓ What is the next step to take right now that will move me closer to my weight loss goals?
“It’s not working” means you’re not working, and that means you lack self-belief, motivation, creativity, patience, perspective, and persistence. Those are the qualities you need if you truly want to eventually make things work, if you truly want to get slim and stay slim. In fact, those qualities are essential for everything of value that you want to create or achieve in life.
Instead of accepting excuses, start accepting the reasons.
