Controlling What Your Kids Eat

Recently, a mom told me she doesn’t have time to pay attention to what she (overweight) or her kids (overweight) are eating. She blamed long workdays, school schedules and jam-packed extracurricular activities.

Too often, parents tell me they’re too stressed, that frozen dinners, ordering in or taking out and fast foods are easier than shopping for and preparing well-balanced meals.

This is when I must tell them to put on their “parents’ pants.” Life is tough sometimes; no one ever said it was easy. But parents can and must control what their kids eat.

They need to stop making excuses and start acting.

They need to awaken from the stupor that holds them back and take a good, long look at their kids.

Parents will always say they would never do anything intentionally to harm their kids, but that’s exactly what they’re doing every time they put down a plate of French fries and vanilla ice cream and call it dinner! 😡

Childhood obesity is a result of ADULT behavior.

Own it.
