Can clutter and chaos make you fat?

Yes. Absolutely.

In my experience, many who struggle with their weight also struggle with volumes of “stuff” in cluttered homes, offices, and cars.

Clutter leads to chaos.
Chaos breeds sloppiness.
Sloppiness breeds disorganization.

And all three — clutter, chaos, disorganization — represent loss of control, especially to one’s eating habits.

I have clients who:

✅ Often ask for copies of previously given (and lost) paperwork: They 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘— they left it at the supermarket, at a friend’s house, on the train, on the bus, at the hair salon, at the gym, at their office, at someone else’s office, at the bookstore — they just don’t know.

✅ Often arrive late for appointments, breathless, harried and stressed.

✅ Often, after arriving, ask if they can run back to their car because they forgot their diaries.

✅ Often, after leaving, come running back to the office because they left behind car keys, earrings, watches, sweaters, jackets, belts, sunglasses, cell phones, water bottles, books . . . and these folks are NEVER the clients who are consistently focused on their goal, doing well and regularly losing weight.

Coincidence?

I think not!
