Hoping vs Doing

How much time do you spend hoping something happens vs. doing what it takes to make it so?

I see people daily who say, “I hope I can do it . . . this time.”

These are folks who for years have done one quick-trick-diet-shtick after another.

I always ask, “How has hoping worked out for you thus far?”

If they (again) only “hope” they’ll lose weight, I suggest they better not pay me because I’m not inexpensive, and they’ll piss their money away — again.

Only when they are ready to accept that there is doing involved, work involved in making changes in their lifestyle and diet, even with a few screw-ups along the way, will they finally be successful.

But this is not just a “weight loss or fitness thing.”

Whether it’s about our health, business, personal relationships, careers, etc., when you hope for things, you put your control in outside factors that might come along and shower you with good luck.

When you do things, you take control over your own destiny and that’s a very powerful feeling, a confidence builder. It’s what propels you to keep on going until you get what you set out to achieve.

Time doesn’t change things.

Hope doesn’t change things.

Only doing things changes things.
